THE IMPORTANCE OF OWNING A CAR IN THE MODERN WORLD
A car is a machine
moving on four wheels, with room for a small number of people used for
transportation. In this modern world, they are mostly used in sparsely
populated areas. The number of users is increasing every year, because of the
need of freedom to travel around. Therefore, in this essay we will discuss;
freedom to travel, comfort and emergencies as the advantages of having a car.
Freedom to travel from one point to another, is one of
the advantages of owning a car. This gives one personal independence for
instance, you can go to work, shopping or any other commitments without being
limited to fixed schedules of public transport system (Nima). It also means, you can
take out your family when one wishes without any interferences. It is flexible
since it does away the hustle of booking tickets for train or bus travel (Tasich 202).
Another advantage is the comfort one gets with his or her
family. Cars come in different sizes and models, fitted with air conditioners
that give fresh air, contrary to crowding and disgusting buses (Tasich 204). You
can listen to music, read a book or play with your kids which is impossible
when using public means of transport. When driving on open roads, you get to
enjoy the beauty of nature. Additionally, it is time saving when moving around
short distances, with less effort. They are fitted with airbags and safety
belts that provide protection to the passengers and the driver (Dutta 2).
Emergencies come in handy as a merit of having a car. In
the rural areas, where access to ambulances is difficult or there is poor
terrain, using a car is faster to take a person with a sudden ailment to the
nearest medical health center (Nima). It is convenient for the elderly or for those
suffering from various ailment conditions to move around. They are equipped with
emergency kits, used to give first aid in case of an accident as you wait for help (Durango).
In conclusion, owning car has the advantage of freedom
and comfort while travelling as opposed to the public sector. From the
discussion above, cars offer safety, convenience and time saving during
transportation. This plays an important role in the sparsely populated and
remote areas across the world.
